I'm convinced that the best way to make money online is to capture email addresses and every week or so, send targetted messages to your email list in the hope of turning them into active customers. So i'm in the market for an autoresponder. Over at the warrior forum, it was recommended that I use awebar. So i've signed up to their free trial....i'll let you know how it goes.

Rich Jerk - Not a scam.

Hi again, it's a short one today, i'm really busy putting together some amends to http://www.millionpoundsavings.co.uk I figured why not show some proof...so I've taken a screenshot of the MSN page that shows thejobcard website's search engine ranking. I figure why not? I got it to number one on MSN and Yahoo in 3 weeks. If that doesn't show that IM techniques work then I don't know what does.

Everybody is frightened of the scam. Well, I can conclusively prove that the rich jerk programme isn't a scam. So i'm going to!

Back to Basics.

I've discovered something over the last few days. In the world of Internet Marketing particuarly at the work from home sector. Design is not a source of competitive advantage. In fact hurts sales.

How do I know this? Through experience. My redesign of http://www.milliondollarsavings.com has bombed! Sales have been hit dramatically. I think it's essentially about knowing your target audience, it seems those looking to buy work from home programmes want simplicity, so whilst on paper, a site devoted to identifiying the best schemes through a chart might seem sensible and logical, it doesn't appeal to this that are looking to "get rich quick"those guys want to start making money now and they want you to tell them how.

So, it's back to the drawiing board, i'm going to purshue a different route. Principally, i'm going to capture names and addresses by offering free advice and then i'm going to try to sell products via the advice I give. Wish me luck!

We beat Real Madrid.

Ok I don't usually let football take over this blog, but it is a bloody good day today. Last night Arsenal managed a 0-0 draw with Real Madrid which took us through to the qtr finals of the Champions League. Lehman, was superb, Torre inmense and Alex Hleb ran himself into the ground for the cause. Just superb, one of my best ever football nights.

Anyhow back to business. Some really good news, the SEO work i've been doing on a couple of my sites specifically http://www.jobcard.co.uk and http://www.tyrereview.co.uk really are starting to pay off, number one on msn, number 3 on yahoo. This is good stuff. Irony, the content itself isn't actually that good on either site yet, it's because what is there, is relevant to the keywords, i've organised a few backlinks although not thousands or anything like that, there aren't many high ranking sites linking to me, obviosuly this blog helps direct some traffic to them and creates one way back links (which are important). Now I just need the milliondollar savings site to really take off and we're laughing! Interesting MDS hasn't got many backlinks, maybe that is the issue there.

Naughty or Nice

Lots of things to talk about today, most of which I'm really excited about.

Firstly, i've got http://www.tyrereview.co.uk debuting at number 8 on Yahoo. It's been around for less than a month, so it's a real trimuph for me and does suggest that you can make this working from home a success. How have I done it? well initially I concentrated on on-page SEO getting my key words right etc. I checked out what the good performers on the search engines have done with meta tags and adapted that. Then I ran my copy through a free densisty checker tweaked it a little and then ftp'd that sucker!

Off page, I did some copy swapping over at link metro, i've been writing this blogg and I submitted an article on cheap tyres online and that honestly is all I've done. It's not receiving a lot of traffic yet, but it's a step in the right direction and feels like i've won a battle.

In terms of http://www.milliondollarsavings.com things aren't so good, sales have been really slow of both rich jerk and googlecash, not sure why, but I almost have an update ready to upload so i'll update you on that as and when.

Finally, just to let you know, that I shall have a new blog running tomorrow in addition to this one or maybe as part of this one, i haven't decided yet. Basically it's for my xmas site http://www.naughtyornice.co.uk and i'm going to tell you who's on the naughty list and who's on the nice list. I don't think i'm giving away any secrets when I suggest that Mr Jose Mourinho's chances of getting a lump of coal in his stocking were enhanced with his histrionics at West Brom Saturday!

Internet Scams

I wanted to touch upon one of the biggest problems with this whole working from home mularkey. Essentially the issue of Internet Scams.

I got my first real taste of it today when I was sent a very official document from a very famous high street bank instructing me to log onto my account immediately...only it wasn't really from them. To be honest it was pretty easy to tell, the english was so bad, it could only have been from a non-native or somebody living in Stoke on Trent! Naturally I forwarded it Barclays scams division at internetsecurity@barclays.co.uk and I would advise anyone in receipt of it to do the same.

But it got me thinking, those scams are so prevelant, that it's no wonder people are scared of or even turned off by the concept of working from home. I guess that a really useful resource would be one that cut through the clutter of "this is the greatest home working plan ever!" and maybe featured some no BS anaylsis. Sort of like the amazon book review section...in fact that could be the model...I give this scheme 5 out of 10 with a top ten list, so people looking for something genuine on http://www.milliondollarsavings.com could then look at it based on everybodies feedback not just my own.

Find a rhythm 2

I can't believe it's been nearly two weeks since my last blog - nearly wrote confession there! I do have an excuse - I've just moved house. Funny thing is, I was talking in my last blog about how important it is to find a rhythm, to keep things moving along, well that sort of all went out of the window the last couple of weeks!

Firstly, because i moved house, it is going to take aol a 21 days to reconnect my broadband, which I really think is poor service so that's pretty disruptive and then of course I've had to sort out all my stuff currently strewn around the new place in boxes.

On the bright side, the new house affords me an office space with a proper desk rather than breaking my back at my laptop on the floor. It sort of ties in because part of giving yourself chance to succeed is about getting the right tools for the job and setting out like you mean to do it properly. I watch the way my father-in-law (who used to be a cabinet maker) prepares to do some DIY and it's not luck that he's good at it. The time he spends preparing his work space is invaluable and helps him do a better job. Case in point, he helped me fit my washing machine, my dad and I had actually done it the night before, but the pipe was kinked and it wasn't working. The first thing John did was remove the cupboard door that obstructed me and my dad. Just that simple act of preparation meant the job got done right. Thus ends my parable for the day.

Finding a rhythm

You know a lot of this working from home/making money on the internet lark is about finding a rhythm. I'm not the most organised of people at the best of times, I have a short attention span and tend to flit between things rather than start one thing, finish it and then move on.

Yet something strange is happening, I have been making a few sales over at http://www.milliondollarsavings.com but I am realising that i've still got a long way to go with it. Principally, the copy is not yet right and in addition I've got a lot of search engine optimisation work to do. As such, what i've been doing is metatags one night, article submission another night, directory submission the next night, I spend one night on the warrior forum, reading and learning, I play with keywords another night. And the best thing is, the routine has sprung up organically, so I seem to be more able to stick to it.

My advice to anyone in this business? Get a routine and stick with it.

Right, what's new for today? Again another sale last night so I'm turning a profit now. I'm spending about £10 a day and making about £20 a day so that's £10 net profit a day over at http://www.milliondollarsavings.com what I need to do now is do that ten times to make £100 a day. Then i'd be laughing!!

I also got the tyre review website up and running with adsense at http://www.tyrereview.co.uk it'll be an interesting experiment to see which makes the most money affiliate vs adsense.

Income from home? It works!

Wow! A few really busy days have seen things start to really kick off for me. For a start, I'm making sales over at http://www.milliondollarsavings.com not loads, but i've brought in around £250 so I'm chuffed about that.

I've also started creating another web site called http://www.jobcard.co.uk which will be about jobs in the tyre industry. I need to work on my anchor text and stuff and my google placements but it really is starting to take off!

I'm depressed today. Google have rejected my site http://www.milliondollarsavings.com for adsense so that is one potential source of revenue closed to me! I suspect it's because I recommend two ebooks on my site. Also those buggers at linkmetro still haven't responded to me! As such i'm still not indexed at google!

A man cannot live by blogging alone!

On the positive side, i joined traffic swarm so hopefully that'll send me some traffic and I adjusted my overture ads to try to make them more focussed and attract the right type of customer.

Hoping for a sale today.

Work from Home Blog

I'm still on a journey, trying to establish whether if you follow the instructions right in one of those ebooks you can succesfully make money at home.

If you're just joining us the story so far is this. I bought the Rich Jerk and i'm now trying to make it work. I set up a site at http://milliondollarsavings.com and i'm now faithfully carrying out his instructions to test the theories contained within.

I have zero internet marketing experience, couldn't set up a website before 2 weeks ago and i'm armed only with a copy of Rich Jerk and a trial version of Dreamweaver.

The bad news is, i've discovered writing copy that sells is harder than it looks, I screwed up my sign-on at link-metro (and they still haven't responded to help sort it out!) and i'm paying for cheap clicks on overture (about 25p) which means i'm getting traffic but i'm now waking up to the fact that I'm not getting the right sort of traffic. It work out about £10 a day.

The good news i have actually started to sell some stuff! I've not broken even yet, but i'm not so far away....

So today - i'm going to cheat a little, i shall ask my friend who's actually a fantastic copywriter to help me by critiquing my copy and I shall refine my overture searches to say something along the lines of "want to know which ebook to buy? Click here" that should sort out those who are just merely interested from those who are actually looking to buy.

The good news is if I can make this work, pretty much anyone can, so wish me luck!

Working Hard At Home!

Ok i'm back after a weekend that's included a haricut and a funeral. On the positive side it also included some sales over at http://milliondollarsavings.com so it would appear that my copy is starting to make sense. I would say that writing copy is much harder than the guru's i'm testing made out, and it's clear it's the most important bit. That said the guys at the warrior forum helped out loads.

This week i'm going to try to get the link metro stuff sorted and i'm going to write an article along the lines of this forum to try and ditribute that. Also I think i need to amend my ad copy so as to get rid of some of the tyre kickers!

Working hard at home!

So i asked for some feedback on my working from home website http://www.milliondollarsavings.com over at the warrior forum. Boy did they give it me! Actually they were really helpful and i've picked up a lot of useful hints and some of the guys kindly proof read it for me, if you're interested in this stuff i can't stress enough how important it is to get over to the warrior forum. ! I've still not got the copy right - this bit is definetely harder than the e-books described!

But it is improving and i'll work on it some more tonight! I've got to anyway because like a moron I forget to add my stat-counter code last night so i'm working blind at the moment.

I'll try and post this weekend not that you care because you're probably not reading this anyway!

Still working from home

Hi blog fans ( ireally have to stop saying that!) I'm back with another update in my quest to make millions working from home!

So what have I got planned for today I hear you ask? What piece of guru advice am i going to follow? Well, it's this bit! Get your copy right! I've done a bit of advertising on overture for my site http://www.milliondollarsavings.com and i'm getting quite a bit of traffic - but it's not converting to sales! So far i've sold one ebook. So i'm going to learn a bit about pro copy writing today and then implement so changes to my site.

Still not listed on google yet and i've still not resolved the issue with linkmetro that's a must because the gurus tell me it's the fastest way to get google.

Economics - if i'm spending £10 a day - i need to get 4 or 5 sales a day to start turning a profit let alone make my millions. What I hope to discover is that that's possible and can be repeated in other markets. The teaching is that you don't make your money on one site but if you can make a little bit on that one and repeat that over a whole bunch of sites that's when you make real money!

Working from home Day 2.

I've had a productive day today in my quest to earn millions working at home. I've been following the advice of the web guru's and i've created my web page at http://www.milliondollarsavings.com i've also spent £50 generating some traffic to it using overture. In fairness, i'm getting lots of hits i'll check tonight to see if that has resulted in any affiliate sales, be nice if it did!

Also i've tried to create a bit of ink exchange jiggery pokery at linkmetro although I messed up the registration process so i'll have to see if I can get that sorted out when they respond to my urgent cries of help!

Other advice given was to register at the warrrior forum, actually there is a lot of good stuff on there and tomorrow i'll ask them what they think of my page.

According to the books I should be getting on google anytime in the next few day so let's see shall we??

Have good days blog fans (of which I appear to be the only one so far!) Maybe I set the statcounter up wrong of maybe i pinged it wrong or something! Aargh!!

Earning Millions working at home?

Ok i've got a job right? it's actually a pretty good job, I earn reasonable money, but like millions of others i'm a little fed up of working in an office, if I could be working at home spending more time with the kids like all these ebooks and "make money at home" websites promise.

A few months ago, i did some research and found that most of them were a blatant con, but I did find a couple that gave good advice you can found out which at http://www.milliondollarsavings.com. So I've set myself a challenge; everyday, i'm going to do one thing that they've told me to do and lets see if I can generate that million dollar savings account.

Starting today - I've creating a blog, now i'm going to set up a yahoo home page then i'm going to ping it to all and sundry, apparently this is a great way to get your site indexed. Lets find out shall we.
